STUDENTS OF 2021

ANNUAL STUDENT RECITAL

* Due to unfortunate circumstances surrounding the Sydney lockdown, we are devastated that our student concerts must be postponed. We will keep all students & teachers updated with the new concert dates as soon as we can. Tickets will be valid for the new dates, if you wish to request a refund, please send your request to admin@musiclessons.academy*

Our annual student concerts are back!

Unfortunately due to the uncertainty surrounding 2020, our student concert was postponed. But on the bright side, this gave our students an extra year to practice before showcasing their skills on stage!

Come celebrate the progress & successes of the students of Music Lessons Australia this August.

All students of MLA are welcome to perform at our 2021 Student Recital to share their dedication & enthusiasm for music with family, friends and their teachers.

Feel inspired watching our teachers showcase their talents to see how far your musical practice can take you. For the families and friends of MLA, come along to show your support and listen to a range of performances, from beautiful piano pieces to drumming solos to kids bop! There will be much to enjoy.

Click on your capital city below to find out more details. Students are asked to attend only one recital session so that all students have the chance to perform.

Please note, the Adelaide concert date & venue is still to be confirmed.

CONCERT FAQs

Who is eligible to perform in the concert?

All students of Music Lessons Australia are encouraged to perform in the student recital! It doesn’t matter if you have just started learning your instrument, or if you have been playing for years, we want to celebrate your progress and see you share your talents on stage.

How many pieces can each student perform?

Students are encouraged to prepare two pieces to perform. The pieces can be any genre, solo, played as an ensemble work and can be as simple or as challenging as the students wish. We just ask that each student’s performance time is limited to 4 minutes.

What do I need to bring to the concert?

Students are asked to bring their sheet music, their can-do attitude, and their instrument if it is handheld (i.e. guitar, woodwind or brass instruments). Each venue will be equipped with a grand piano, drum kit, music stands and microphones.

How long will the concerts run for?

Each concert has an approximate running time of one hour. The doors will open 15 minutes before the showtime. Parents & students are welcome to stay for refreshments after each show.

Why are there multiple concert sessions/dates?

We have organised multiple concert sessions for each capital city to give every student the chance to perform.

We also thought it would be more enjoyable to watch an hour long show, with varying pieces and genres rather than sitting through three hours of student performers.

Please select the session time that suits you best.

I've bought tickets, but I want to change the session time, can I transfer my tickets to another session time?

Depending on the availability of tickets, we are happy to transfer your tickets to another session time.

You can request to change your concert session time by emailing the event organiser here.

What happens if there is a lockdown in my state?

In the unfortunate event that the concert could not go ahead due to an outbreak or lockdown, we will reschedule the student concert to a later date. Tickets may be refunded or transferred to the new concert date.

How can I buy tickets for the concert?

Jump to your capital city here, then select your preferred concert time. You will be redirected to the ticketing website.

The tickets have sold out for my preferred concert time! What can I do?

If the tickets have sold out in your preferred session time, you can either:

  1. Choose another session time, or
  2. Email the event organiser here to be put on the waitlist for your preferred lesson time.

If there is high demand for the Sydney concerts, we may organise a third concert date in Western Sydney.

What is your COVID Safety Plan?
  • Physical distancing will be practiced
  • There will be QR codes to check into each venue
  • Hand sanitiser will be available at multiple points in the venue
  • Hand sanitiser must be used before performers hold the microphone or play the piano
  • The piano & microphones will be wiped down before & after the concert
  • The chairs, tables and other shared surfaces will be sanitised and wiped down between concert sessions
